I like the look of those ... just need a nice CR to fit them on smile

I have resigned myself to chewing through standard fit steels on the 991.2 GT3RS that I am learning .... two trackdays so far and Knockhill the week after next ... so far it feels a bit like a computer game ... not much time between corners !
Sounds a hell of a weapon Chris smile

You mean “Magpie bling” as in the usual tacky purple, blue or red ?
Not my style I’m afraid, I’m more “Motorsport” than “Max Power” smile
Understood

But your target market isn't You

Some people may want bling

So if you want to sell to a wider range of people then perhaps offer some different colour options

Argh man…. It’s not a case of too good to be true is it ! Looked like a beauty but explains why it’s not priced slightly higher I guess. Shame. How much to swap to steels or after market brakes I wonder ?
Maybe to GiroDiscs, I think that would run around £5K.
I thought 1200 ish per pair plus pads so more like 3 grand?
All the better! smile

Wheels showing the signs of some heavy braking, but for once I remembered to stop and get the proper camera out rather than just the odd phone snap.

Looks superb - you are very fortunate to have that scenery and those roads so close to you. I normally go to the highlands in the R once a year as it feels fantastic on those roads. But not doing that this year as off on a euro trip at the weekend with a few mates. Driving down through France, past the Millau bridge, across the Pyrenees, across Spain, into Portugal, and back across Northern Spain, with the Ferry back from Santander. Should be fun.

How are you finding the Continental SC7's?

One of the reasons I'm happy to stay here. Aberdeen isn't much of a city but we have great roads nearby and lots of good mountian biking and hiking in the area.

I'm extremely impressed with the Continetals! I've posted about them a few times on here and every time I drive the car I wish I'd put them on sooner. The steering feel is particularly good on them and they are predicatble and confidence inspiring. They really are as good as the reviews say and I'd highly recommend them.

My R, presumably, lost its door sill decals when the previous owner in Jersey added a wrap (though I never did see it wrapped, as was long removed when it came to the shores for purchase).

I contacted HighgateHouse Vehicle Graphics who seem to come recommended in forums. They have the Cayman R lock up as a file to print from but they don't know what the size would be.

Would one of you lovely folk be able to help by measuring in mm the width from the edge of the C to the widest point of the R please. It'll retain proportions so just need to know the width. Thank you in advance if you can help - or if there is an online resource with the info - I had no luck finding the part number or anything.

Colour they said they'll send me a series of their silver/grey swatches to match it to - unless that info can be gleaned from somewhere?

Just popped out to the garage. From the far left edge of the C to the far right of the R it’s 21cm.

Any views on the modified peridot R (‘RS’ as they claim!) on AT?

It has obviously been cherished to have had all that extra cost spent on it.
No A/C is one thing but no Radio (especially for when the PSSM+ Gen 2 version comes out). Don't think I have seen one without the Radio unit before - its probably all in as close to what the original vision of the R. You tempted?

Keep looking at 981/718 GT4s after always fancying an R. The aircon has been knackered on my Boxster for over a decade so that wouldn’t necessarily put me off! For road use, which is what it would be for me, the R probably is a more sensible choice than a junior GTcar.

Thanks for your reply.

Having had a GT3 and a Cayman R, I’d definitely say the R has ‘Junior GT vibes’ running right through it.

For uk roads, it’s about as perfect as you’ll get.

Cheaper road tax, insurance, to buy in the first place etc etc and less likely to scrape on every speed bump.

What else can give you that from £35k ? (Or £26k if your brave enough for the cat C one lol)

Maybe so. Its listing on eBay has been removed too.

Speaking of wheels...I'm looking for a set of 19s for track duties. Doesn't seem to much around on the used market so am thinking of a new after market set. Don't really want to spend more than £1500 on track wheels. So am thinking about these BBS CH-R (which are available to order in the right widths and offsets):

http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wheels/bbs/ch...

And has anyone tried these?

http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod676/19--Style-10...

Thoughts and alternative ideas?
I bought a set of CH-Rs while hunting for a set of Spyder wheels (still trying to find a set btw) and they're a perfect match for the car. Esp with a set of original center caps.
