Far classier with the silver belts and door pulls in my opinion. Much more cohesive with the silver body accents - makes more sense than matching the brake callipers, for a black R that is….then again I am biased smile
No Spyders or buckets though

The above post demonstrates perfectly why the wheels on my car went from black to silver.

That car for sale was in Aberdeen with mine and two other peridot cars for a while. Mines now the only one left here but it was fun to get the 4 together back when they were all here.

Yep agreed this one wins top trumps. Well priced and brilliant spec. There is going to be one lucky new owner in the house soon !

Be interesting to see how quickly it sells as a gauge for the current market.

Gutted I am not in a position to take advantage of this one.

I've previously owned this car too! I chopped it in for an Aqua Blue, manual 997 GTS at Cameron Sports.
TBH, I wish I'd never let the R go! If I had the funds and space now, I'd be on the phone getting my deposit down on it!

Interesting as I have been looking at a manual 997 GTS as the next level up from an R. Quite why, no idea TBH. Have you found the 997 GTS not as special as the R?

The R just felt like it was up on it toes everywhere, and ilI could really ring it's neck. I'd find myself driving down to North Wales from Manchester most weeks to have some fun in it.
By comparison, the GTS felt far more grown up heavier, and just not as focussed.
I also used it as a 4 seater as my kids were 1 and 2 at the time.
I think these cars are best kept for high times, rather than family days out!

Argh man…. It’s not a case of too good to be true is it ! Looked like a beauty but explains why it’s not priced slightly higher I guess. Shame. How much to swap to steels or after market brakes I wonder ?

Maybe to GiroDiscs, I think that would run around £5K.

This ^

Or you could fit my latest evolution : 345mm and thicker too, but the same weight (actually 100g lighter) per corner than the OE, one piece discs smile

That looks nice ... aluminium bells and steel disc ?

Slippy, are these branded or something that you have developed with a manufacturer ??

Girodisc would be one alternative but I hear of supply reliability issues and they are quite expensive shipping from the USA ...

Hi Chris, they are indeed steel and aluminium, I’ve developed them myself smile All parts UK sourced, the bells by the UK’s foremost AP Racing agent, who manufacture components for F1, WRC, Moto GP, Porsche Motorsport, Aston Martin, McLaren etc etc.

They’re pretty much the biggest discs you can cram inside the standard caliper (there is a kit out there that uses OE 350mm x 28mm one piece 997 Turbo rear discs) but they’re heavy and require some convoluted spacers to adapt the disc offset to the front hubs/calipers, which also increases the offset of the wheel’s offset by 10 or 12mm.

I thought PCCB were 355 or 350mm. Does that few mm make a difference going down to 345?

PCCB’s 350, but they use a different front upright (997S) and the far, far bigger 6 pot front calipers.

These discs are the largest diameter, thickest you can cram inside side the stock calipers/front uprights.

Ok so we started discussing discs because there was a car that needed a PCCB replacement.

Indeed, but it was the first opportunity available to crowbar a post in containing a picture of the latest evolution of my discs to replace/upgrade using the OE 4 pot calipers hehe

Perhaps a bit more colour for the bells?

I like the look of those ... just need a nice CR to fit them on smile

I have resigned myself to chewing through standard fit steels on the 991.2 GT3RS that I am learning .... two trackdays so far and Knockhill the week after next ... so far it feels a bit like a computer game ... not much time between corners !

You mean “Magpie bling” as in the usual tacky purple, blue or red ?
Not my style I’m afraid, I’m more “Motorsport” than “Max Power” smile
