I thought you already had one so I guess you sold it. Can I ask why?
I'd guess a few red ones exist although I'm not so nerdy when it comes to these.
Amazing car, totally wrong colour for me been black it was horrendous to keep clean. The roof was a touch annoying which is why I'd prefer a Cayman and this time try a PDK.I'd guess a few red ones exist although I'm not so nerdy when it comes to these.
But Spyder epic and with ceramics and buckets what a car, shame wrong colour for me, if it was red or yellow I'd probably have never sold it, but because of the colour I never fell in love with it.

I think there are 6 or 9 Red Spyders in the Uk? and a handful of silver ones maybe?...
Perhaps find the spec that meets the requirements and send it off to a PP place to get the colour of your choice
Nah I don't do wraps, I will either buy the right colour or not buy and make that mistake again.Perhaps find the spec that meets the requirements and send it off to a PP place to get the colour of your choice
I'd also prefer an R anyway, more colours available and more cars for sale generally just need to find one in the 30-35k price region if not possible will just not bother and might look at a 997.2 C2S PDK instead or just pay the extra for the GTS model.

Owners who have Cayman R with no AC, how is the car, any misting issues on cold/wet days and does it get unbearable hot in Summer?
I nearly didn't buy my CR due to no AC, but it really hasn't been an issue. There's also the benefit of reduced weight and less to go wrong.I did a road trip in Europe where it was mid 30 celsius - when you're rolling it's fine. I think the only time it would get uncomfortable is if you spend a lot of time static on hot days - e.g. in traffic.
No issues during winter, just keep the glass clean inside.

Hi Gibbo,Owners who have Cayman R with no AC, how is the car, any misting issues on cold/wet days and does it get unbearable hot in Summer?
I've owned my manual car for 4 1/2 years and have had no misting issues - the heating and ventilation system is quick and efficient at clearing the screen. It's no slower than my climate controlled family car.
I am old enough that my first few cars had no A/C. Tearing around France in summer 1991 in a no-sunroof, no A/C 205GTI is a very happy memory! Even now, it is so rarely hot enough to be uncomfortable in the UK that I don't find it a problem. You are allowed to open the windows.....
Neither of my Porsches has A/C and I prefer it that way. For me, you buy a sports car or you buy a luxury car and A/C, phone integration, sat nav and ICE (and extra leathery bits... sorry Julian) all belong in the latter. When did we all get so soft?
OK, OK, I'm a dinosaur...
I hope you enjoy whatever you decide to buy!
Jon
My CR has AC however there were 2 summers when it didn't work as the condenser was leaking (common) and I hadn't been bothered to replace it. On hot days it was OK when moving, but with windows down it's very loud. That was fine on my own, but if there was anyone else in the car chat was difficult and with windows up it was getting a bit warm. I replaced the condensers, got the system regassed and will be keeping it operational going forward. Essential, no, but I do like it if for no other reason than it's nice to be able to have a passenger with the windows up on a hot day.
You can work around not having a/c for sure but just like your own concerns I think come resale time others will always have the same making it harder to sell.
No Bose, you can put in a new unit. No PSE you got a plethora of options, but no a/c that’s going to have to stay that way most likely.
Waiting for the right R is a PITA 😤 and you don’t want buyers remorse 👍

Do you know how hard these are to fit - and assume that they may also need to be coded? Not an issue just checking what I'd need to do for this.

From my research, it's very straight forward for the 987. Remove the cover under the steering wheel, plug in, bolt on and replace the cover.Do you know how hard these are to fit - and assume that they may also need to be coded? Not an issue just checking what I'd need to do for this.
You need the following parts:
Stalk: 99761326100 - included
Screw: N90906801 - included
Wire: 99762267400
Cover: 99755247503 - optional (you can cut a slot in the original)
Then you'll need an indy/OPC to code it in. Research suggests that they need to code the following modules, but I'm not sure how accurate this is: Instrument Cluster, DME, Steering Wheel Electronics/Gateway
It may not be allowed but I find this useful.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had a GAZOO number plate on the GR Yaris forum but that was removed ... is there is anywhere on PH otherwise to promote these useful and specific parts ?
I've been a contributor since the start and get free ads for cars but ... ?

I thought that there was a number plate section with the classifieds in PH. Or at least there used to be. Failing that Collecting Cars sell number plates. There’s a whole marketplace forum these days on PH if you ever look around the place outside the Porsche forums
That’s where your parts sales should go (although I suspect it would get better traffic if the Porsche pets were in the Porsche forum, the Ferrari in the Ferrari etc).
