Here it is, out in the wild!
Any thoughts on what the launch colour might be? could be a black, don't know if they have ever used black for launch?

And spy shots of the 992.2 RS

It's like watching a QVC presentation.
It was awful wasn't it. The new GTS looks fantastic, but i must be really out of touch if that prat Matt Watson seemed the best candidate for the launch promo?

So what if the new GTS just beats the old one in a drag race, I don't think many people buy a new 911 to drag race it. The Youtube generation has a lot to answer for and it seems the bigwigs at Porsche have drunk the Koolaid.

In summary, nice car, crap presentation unless you're 14!
It didn’t seem like a compelling outcome - faster yep but hardly earth shattering of a difference.

This turned out to be the case. The Cartagena Yellow and Shade Green are rather nice. The launch grey seems rather uneventful.

Why do you call him a prat? He doesn't seem likeable to me but I don't know anything about him.
If he doesn’t seem likeable to you then hasn’t that answered matters?

I am sure he is a lovely chap but he tends to be like
“This is the best car ever”
(Gets in next car)
“Now this really is the best car ever”
(Gets in next car(
“THIS is the best car in the world”

Repeat to fade.

Insanely boring I'd wager. An expensive '5 minute wonder'

Honestly, I just configured a GTS 4 and it came out to £169,000. I did include the body kit and bucket seats, but otherwise, it's pretty much an average spec. I understand the performance aspect, but a 992.1 GTS is already incredibly fast, so I don't see the additional value. There are still a few Gen 1 2022 models available for between £107,000 and £110,000, and I wouldn't be surprised if they get snapped up quickly.
One has to get into the £180/90K for a notable specced one. They must have read the market but it seems such an expense.

I think it will make the 718E all the more desirable as that will be all-Electric and seem a great deal by comparison.

Weird one, you can’t have interior carbon with the GTS interior. Piano black is meh.
The logic on some options baffled me. I am surprised the Heritage interior pack has gone on the base.

The colour Shade Green looks radically different on the config to this listing of an ST in it. Think I have gone off it now - not that I had any intentions! smile

I am so happy I bought a new 992.1 Carrera S MANUAL last year, as I wanted to buy a 3-pedal petrol non-hybrid 911, with decent compliant road orientated suspension while Porsche still made them .
I wonder if they will offer a manual version of the S or T in the next year or two? (For the other luddites like me)
I'd imagine they will all be PDK from here on in, what with that transmission being part of the hybrid technology.

Is the top window tint a must have?
for £98 seems fair to me. My CR has it and I think it is a good option. Depends if you like to reduce dazzle or not....and on dark coloured cars makes it look a bit more moody blending in with the roof line.

As per the 992.2 GTS with its electric turbo system, the concept has been around a while but was waiting for the battery tech to catch up in order to make it truly effective.

This from 2016 - specifically about superchargers, but you get the gist:

https://www.carthrottle.com/news/what-are-electric...

Also, how much extra power might a GTS software tune extract..?
Considering how much more technology is going on, wouldn’t a software tune void the warranty? Would be worth checking in my opinion.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the new grille / vertical slats / aero?

I’m still on the fence but suppose I need to see it in person.

Noticed not many people talking about this - maybe it’s just me who’s on the fence.
I am surprised no chatter on the start engine button rather than a key.

The slats on the base model have a Design pack option which improves them in my opinion, but yep I am not a fan of the vertical GTS ones….though of course they do look better now than was on the spied prototypes.
