Teenage son is asking, ahead me acquiring one, what is the technique to launch a 992 without sport chrono? My guess is to simply hold the foot brake, dial in some revs (how many?) and within a few seconds release brake. Oh, with traction control off too.

As in my old Golf R, I'll likely do this pointless exercise only once or twice, but know I must to not be a 'melt', apparently.

I’d not bother, with the engine behind the back wheels it simply puts huge strain on drive shafts, gearbox etc.

Sport mode, brake pedal pressed. Just floor the accelerator and the car limits the revs. Release brake.

You meltlaugh

OP, try and find somewhere quiet enough to keep it pinned well into 3 figures, thats when it gets impressive.
