Please refer me to a thread if there is one already! I could not find it.

I need to replace the standard OEM front and rear discs and pads and was looking for advice on alternatives.

It is an option to go with OEM Porsche steel ones (just got a quote and the high cost of replacement has had me looking at alternatives / potential upgrades) - it must be said that I have found the OEM ones to be 100% fine on the road, and have stood up very well to 3 track days.

Design911 have some PFC disc and pad kits which seem to be well regarded for road and track use - any experience / views anyone can share would be well received. Are they much louder for road use as I only do 3-4 track days a year.

I also see other brands but would value any input/experience that people are able to share.

Thanks in advance!

Can't speak for PFC on 991, but I had their set up on my 996.2 GT3 for track and road work and they were faultless (only on the front as general consensus was to leave the rear OE). Some PFC pads produce a lot of dust - it ends up on the doors after a track day - so worth researching right one (see PFC website) and a bit noisy in town occasionally. Lasted well.

PFC is solid but can be noisy on the street. If you want quiet, stick with OEM rotors and swap to Pagid RSL1 or Ferodo DS1.11 pads. That’ll handle your track days without the headache. Girodisc rotors with those pads is the other common route better value than Porsche steel.
