If you were tuning a 991.2 T - GTS (or better) turbos, map, exhaust and other supporting bits if needed. Experiences? Recommendations? Do everything in 1 go or a bit at a time?

I think the obvious shops are

1. Litchfield
2. ES Motor
3. Genome
4. 9e
5. RPM technique
6. Other?

I'm in EN5 herts/barnet so that plays a factor as well with RPM and then 9e being closest to me.

Give me some knowledge and opinion please

Oops, I think I was thinking about their 992. GTS kit which I must have seen before..... I personally like the German tuning because, certainly in Ruf's case, they max out the tuned cars on the Autobahn which gives a decent verification that the engine is stable.

I agree - always wanted to send me 997 GT2 to Ruf .... then I crashed it on the Autobahn. Miss that car ...
Do you still have yours?

I think OP would be better off spending the money chopping his 991 T in for a full fat turbo s. The 991 T is supposed to be a back to basics lw 911. No point messing with it.

40,000 + trouble free miles covered in 997.1 turbo via 9e on road and track.

Yeah, still got it, had an engine refresh in DE in '23 and have not put many miles on since then following a flurry of points and a session in court for 100mph on a motorway, didn't enjoy that.... playing around with fun slow stuff at the moment, Porsche gearing isn't UK speed limit friendly !

Not much in it between manual 9e tuned 997 turbo and 992 turbo s in a straight. 9e do test their powerkits properly. Their T kit which swaps out for GTS turbos genuine 620bhp. But real world it will still be slower than a stock 991 or 992 turbo s.

That's definitely on the cards - I'm considering a number of options - Turbo S, GT4, GT3 or tuning mine - only option off the table is NOT fiddling - probably should spend the money on a good therapist...

nice, I remember looking at pics of your car and thinking - this is what I want.

Mine was a red CS - put nearly 10k km on it from December to April (including a trip from Salzburg to London and then onwards to Edinburg and then back again - a lot of it in the pouring rain) - exactly on the day 4 months after taking delivery I put it on the roof and myself in the hospital. That was the premature end to my 997 GT2 ownership. Loved the car, but underestimated how crap Cup 1 are in cold conditions.... luckily I lived to learn from it. Should have bought winter tyres ....
Now they are beyond what I would want to pay for one I think - never say never, but not at the moment.

When I was young, I lost my driving license on an Austrian mountain road doing close to double the speed limit - only 2 weeks and 400 Euro (those were the good old days). Mostly drive my 1971 Targa at the moment, I think I'd have to try really really hard to manage to lose my license for speeding in that one and might sell my other cars, even in Germany and Austria driving fast is not what it once was.

This is why I've come to the conclusion that 400bhp+ cars are not fun anymore
