After some advice/suggestions..

Quick over view-

Have a Porsche which is currently at a main dealer requiring a new engine. The warranty claim was accepted by Porsche around 10th October and Iv been waiting ever since with no end in sight.. at the start I was told the engine would be here early Q1 then given a date of mid Feb, that’s been and passed and all I get now is there is no date.

Logged with Porsche GB etc and they can’t seem to do anything either.

Anyone had previous experience of long delays with Porsche or any advice of next steps I could take?

Car has some finance with Porsche and Iv logged a complaint with them too about the car not useable.

Ouch, what happened?

Assuming it’s something that is covered under warranty and you have breakdown cover with them, you should be entitled to a courtesy car. Might not speed things up but if they have a car out on loan to you, I normally find that it helps them speed up the process as they want it back for the next person.

Yes all covered under warranty they are just waiting for the engine.

I can have a Courtesy car via euro car in the form of an Audi A5 saloon or similar which is not quite the 911 RS.

I’m getting frustrated having almost waited 6 months with still no end in sight and no dates given to when it might arrive.

What else can be done? If the parts are not available then they can’t do anything either - just one of those?

At this point (well I would have made the fuss a couple months back) id be making a big fuss for a proper courtesy car (911) and put miles on it!

The dealer is always going to avoid paying out or loaning out a better courtesy car - have you raised this same point with GB?

Yes all raised with GB. So frustrating. Someone within Porsche must know a schedule to when engine will be available/built. I just want a date and find it ridiculous a multi billion pound company can’t give a simple date. They must plan in the factory building parts etc

I rejected a new 911 and I had 2 x new turbo s on loan for 6 months so if they want to put you in a 911 they can.

That said the 6 months was due to them trying ( and failing ) to fix the issue.

There is no apparent urgency in either booking cars in or fixing them.

My Cayenne had a brake switch fault that gave a brake error and made the car undrivable .

It was there for weeks complete with enterprise loan car. The fix was one switch. Had they triaged the car when it came in they could have had it back to me the following day. Corporate culture seems to pervade the system.

This is just not acceptable. You need to up the pressure.

Ask Porsche GB to buy the car back or have your lawyer write them a nice letter.
