Hi Guys,

Anyone had this dilemma? What did you/would you choose?

Options are 23/24 GTS at c.120k or 22/23 Turbo S at c.150k?

Thanks

The most recent Bad Boys was 992 Turbo S, so that'd be my choice.

For engagement/involvement?

IMO it ticks all boxes for a daily and engaging enough for a daily. I'd say the turbo wouldn't be practical. GTS is considered thr middle ground sweet spot in the range, hence the ideal choice for a daily

That being said, if I had spent 150k on a car, I wouldn't let it at home, I'd daily that turbo too

My experience of the gts is that it is too hard for UK roads unless you delete the standard pasm -10mm.

Never driven a 992 turbo s so cannot comment.

I drove the 992 Turbo S on a 1 hour test I found it ridiculously fast, fair play to those that own them but I ended up getting a 992.1 gts.

How about the new C2S? (Or 4S when it comes). Same performance as the .1 GTS but possibly easier to live with/more comfortable?

I thought that - firmer than my 991.2 GTS anyway. Watched a few reviews where people thought it might grate on a day to day basis…

Did you choose between the two?

Why don’t you think the Turbo would be practical?

Can I ask what were the main reasons for getting the GTS?

Maybe I need to try. Unless I’m wrong they seem to be depreciating a fair bit

Id probably loose my license far quicker in a Turbo Sbiglaugh
I don’t daily my best car I had 7.5 years across 2 M2’s OG and Comp, prior to them A45’s and RS3’s and a couple of different generations of M3’s in the 90’s and 2000’s.
I prefer rwd over 4wd and the GTS is more than enough for public roads.
Drive them both and see which you prefer.

992 Turbo S. I found the gts too harsh with the -10mm suspension (daily in London). Trouble was finding a Turbo S that hadn’t been specced with the drop - got one eventually and v happy..

Why can’t you daily one? Most Taycans on the road are as fast, but don’t stop so well - great car at any speed.

The turbo s is softer.

I did consider a gts as to be frank they are better value and I could have got a newer one, but

A. It is not a turbo s

B. Most gts have Alcantara and I don't like alcantara

C. Too harsh.

D the turbo s is a better looking car with a nicer spoiler and the side intakes.

There are people that say the turbo s is too fast for the road etc but this is entirely voluntary and decided with your right foot. I suspect it also has a lot to do with how much people are willing to spaf on a car. The base model has always been the black sheep. On rennlist suddenly everyone is keen on the base which I think has a lot to do with the significant ongoing price increases.

The car is quite different in normal vs sport or sport plus. Normal I just drive it like my Cayenne ( which is a better daily vehicle as is is quieter ) but on sport it comes alive.

I take kids to the cinema and also have fun with it. It just does what you want it do do
