Same price relatively as the 2018 £85k 991.2 taking account of the unfortunate standard inclusion of the needless rws, more power and brake upgrade.
Good to see Porsche have replaced the poor and vague 7 speed with a better 6 speed (hopefully as good as the superb GT4/GT3) although no high gear now for cruising which will impact economy.
Wonder if there will be big discounts available soon as per the 992.1 T primarily due to oversupply.

Having come from a manual gearbox gt4 to a 7spd manual T i'm finding the gearbox is just as precise and 7th perfect for the motorway.Good to see Porsche have replaced the poor and vague 7 speed with a better 6 speed (hopefully as good as the superb GT4/GT3) although no high gear now for cruising which will impact economy.

Im sure luddites said a 3 speed auto and a 4 speed manual were plenty, 5 at most etc etc.
It's claimed to be 1.something kg lighter than the 7-speed on which it's based, so would think some parts have been removed. Am not a transmission engineer so I don't know what is plausible in that regard.
But think it's otherwise mechanically the same as the 7-speed so I'd wait to see about shift quality (which personally I think was fine on the latter 7-speed iterations, but any limitations in that regard I would think carried over to the "new" 6-speed box).

Basically a Carrera with sportier suspension, wheels and exhaust with less sound deadening Porsche charge £10k more for. Call me a cynic but why can't you just have a base Carrera with a manual box? Only 10,000 reasons! Less is more!! Amazing money liberating operation ahem I mean marketing operation.
Yeah it’s a shame they didn’t leave the rws as an option.
I didn’t mind the 7th gear on my 991.2, good for motorway cruising. I’ll take that back if the 6 is a vast improvement though…
A bit disappointing the new folding GT3 buckets aren’t available either.
I still like it though, a part from a GT3 touring, it’d be my pick of the range.

Almost, it’s a Carrera with a load of the performance / driver orientated options fitted as standard. Larger wheels / colour foc
Sports seats Plus
Sport front apron
Body coloured mirrors
Sport chrono
Sports exhaust
Pasm
Rear steering
Lightweight glass
Limited slip differential
Some of the above you can’t now get on the standard car, but as options they cost more than the price differential.
Effectively an opportunity to buy a Porsche without needing to hit the options list. Trick is not to add further.
As with the 992.2 GT3, it will be interesting to see whether these changes translate into improvements in ‘real world’ use.
Agree with RWS comments. Should be an option, as many owners may not want it, for the reasons justifying it’s exclusion on the ST.
I was an early critic of the 7-SPD on the 991.1, but it was much improved for the 991.2 and bordering on excellent on the 992.1.
Again, as said above, it should be available on the base Carrera, but it’ll be interesting to see what it’s actually like.

I agree with you that the manual should have/be available on the base C. I only bought the 992.1 T because I wanted a manual. However, I have come to appreciate some the extra stuff on the T that I would never have specified on a standard C.Agree with RWS comments. My first impressions of the new T is that it looks a bit garish and childish. I don't need 'MT' underneath the gear lever to remind me that it's a manual. Nor do I require a sticker on the rear windows. Reminds me of the Talbot cars that had '5 speed' badges on the rear.
