So, after six glorious years of ownership from new, it's time to sell the beast! Black with green accents, including the roll cage. I have posted an advert on pistonheads this week. With very rudimentary pics of the car, David Bailey eat your heart out! I've been contacted by collecting cars to sell by way of their auction, and I was wondering if anyone else had dealings with them? All info greatly appreciated.

Great for Selling. Set your reserve, set your auction ending in the evening of a weekend, and sit back..

I've sold Porsche wheels on there. Was a good experience.

Just be aware that once the car is 'bought', Collecting Cars take their commission then they have no more involvement: it's up to you & the buyers to meet up & do the deal, figure out best way to transfer the money etc, just like a private sale.

Personally I'd take the hassle out of it and ask RPM or another specialist if they could sell it for you on a sale or return basis. Or your local OPC even.

I have experience of selling and buying on Collecting Cars. I would say that you should prepare yourself to achieve a trade value. Good if you're buying but not necessarily great for the sale of a really good quality car.

I sold my one owner 2018 991.2 GT3 RS with 2,200 miles on the clock via JZM in Kings Langley. It had one year of Porsche Extende Warranty left. The car was immaculate and sold for £186,000 in May of this year and JZM took a fee of £5,000 plus VAT. I have sold 4 cars through JZM in the last two years (3 porsche and 1 AMG GTR) and each experience has been good. I dealt with Russ and Adam.

I hope this helps.

Less hassle, certainly, but at a cost

Appreciate all the input people, many thanks. I'm talking to JZM and RPM Technik, with a view to selling.

I sold twice on collecting cars, both times the buyer vanished.....

When i've used SOR the (main) dealer called to say we've had an offer but you will need to drop by x for it to work etc. Lack of transparency.

Others have reported with SOR their car has been sold and they weren't told, nor paid and theres a chance of the dealer going tits up - so id want a very clear contract about ownership, simultaneos payment on sale, plus id be retaining the second keys and v5.

Given the current climate, CC will probably get you a trade price at best.

If your car has an official porsche warranty and porsche service history it may be worth trying to sell it privately.

Just be realistic, don’t waste your time pricing it at retail like other private sellers do!

All relevant. However it’s best to know your audience. If you elect to go down the SOR route, the dealer you choose will be the best from your research. As London GT3 has already mentioned!!
