Got a weep from the selector shaft on my 996 C2 manual. Apparently it's a gearbox out and open job to replace a 4 quid seal (thanks porsche)

Can anyone recommend any gearbox place in east anglia or london?

I have the same leak, although worse as it does leave a couple of spots on the floor after a while.
I just live with it and check the gearbox oil level every year (over filled when i first checked it so left it like that).
I did read some stuff from america that states the casing can wear, so might not be just a seal?
My gearbox might be on 180K miles, so I’ll wait until it needs more work before fixing. (I’m also northwest based so will probably use sports and classic, some good info on these gearbox’s on their site, the owner used to post here too)

Thanks for the reassurance. Mine is on 155k and I've never seen anything under my car since it came back from the last big surgery which was in 2022.
I have spoken to sports and classic and it seems like the best option, but it's quite far for me (3h) so i was hoping for anyone known closer.

I'd travel. Most of the indies within the M25 send their broken gearboxes to S&C. You could always flatbed the 911 to him using your breakdown service if you're advised not to drive the car wink

Undo the fill plug and see if oil comes out.
