I have noticed the oil temp running around 105 on my 991.2 GTS when driving normally. Seems to run sub 100 most of the time but this has happened twice in the past month. Any thoughts?

Oil temp changes on a GT4 according to whether you are in sport (higher) or not, it’s by design with oil cooler optimisation. It mentioned in the instructions. Could your car be the same.

Not a GTS but a 991.2 Carrera. 105 would be normal to low for me.

I’ve the same car , city temps 105-108 ish otherwise 95-100 . I also think it strange that slow driving is usually a higher temp than fast but always been like that. On track I’ve seen 110+ .I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

My 991.2 T stays pretty steady at 100. In my 981 GTS the oil temperature dropped a bit when in Sport owing to increased oil cooler airflow. Fuel consumption went up a bit too. :-)

Same on my 991.1.

It's the first car (that I can remember) that I've owned with an oil temperature gauge - it's very useful as it happens. Particularly when starting and driving from cold - the oil takes quite a long while to heat up. Hardly a shocker, but it's useful to see.

Most of the time my oil is at 90 degrees and then 105 (ish) when pushing.

GT4 here, oil temps between 100-110 when pressing on (and that's right in the middle of the gauge)

The oil will run at lower temperatures in 'Sport' mode - worth knowing if you're seeing high temperatures (hot foreign motorways, altitude etc).
