Hi all,

I recently replaced the door lock mechanism and in doing so removed the side door air bag and when refitting I put the battery back on to test some of the window mechanism before rewiring in the air bag. Ever since the dash light doesn't go off, so suspect it might be because at one point the battery was on and the airbag disconnected. Everything is as it was now and all working normally apart from the air bag light.

Any advice, ideas ?

I reset my airbag warning light (amber) by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

Might be worth a go?

Eric, hi

Thanks, I'll try again. I did try this, but worth another shot. I must remember to leave the bonnet unlocked this time !

Apologies, red won't be reset by disconnecting the battery. It probably needs connecting to a PIWIS.

For what it's worth, my amber light came on after I disconnected the under seat connector and switched the ignition on which "latched" the fault. Conveniently, a few days later I had a PCGB visit to Porsche Solihull, and one of the technicians offered to have a look at it, and quickly reset it (and told me about disconnecting the battery to reset amber warnings). It only took a couple of minutes, so dropping in to a customer friendly OPC/independent might be possible, if your service is a while off.

Maybe one of the mid price code readers like a Foxwell NT530 or ICarsoft Por 2 will do this.

I have a Foxwell and have used it a couple of times to reset lights on a couple of my cars and do a minor bit of coding on my 997.

Thanks

I've added a little piece of sticky backed black velour on top, the lights no longer visible so that will be good until I get a reset !
