Hi all,

I was looking to find out what people's thoughts are regarding either purchasing a 718 Cayman GT4 or 991.2 GTS? What are the pro's and cons of both? has anyone had any regrets after buying one? How did the residuals hold up after ownership?

For me, I probably prefer the GTS but not by much, after reading a few posts on here it seems the GT4 is phenomenal car and a real GT car. Both cars are roughly the same price and most likely be kept for a couple of years then moved on.

Any thoughts/experiences are most welcome 👍

Best advice is to drive both preferably back to back and then see which you prefer.

Totally different cars with totally different focus.

Can short of sheaf some light on this I one, I’ve had a 991.2 4s and a 718 gt4, both from new.

In my opinion the 991.2 4s was far more usable on a day to day bases, I personally found the gt4 to low / ground clearance) and hard work to get in and out of the bucket seats if someone was parked next to you.

Gt4 felt more raw and the road nose was greater, can’t say it was any better to drive over the 991.2 4s.

I do regret selling the 991.2 4s, not so much the GT4.

991.2 4s was very easy to sell, 718 gt4 wasn’t as easy.

Yeah went to see a GT4 at the weekend but it was buried in the showroom so didn't get to drive it, GTS are hard to come by in the 991.2 spec and none near by where I stay unfortunately.

I did see a 991.2 4s and was lovely, I like the wide arches on them with the rear light across the boot, however I would prefer a RWD car.

Whichever car I choose is going to be a garage queen and used only for weekends etc.

When you mention it was harder to sell the gt4, was that privately or garages?
