4.0 n/a engine
Discussion
Perhaps in a more expensive than current 992.2 T variant?
I’ve had the 4L in a gt4, I’ve now got the 3.0TT in a 992.
The 3.0 is an astonishing engine and makes a lovely noise with more torque lower down.
Bit of reverse psychology taking place here, turbo was and in Porsche speak generally an upgrade.

I agree; brilliant engine. Not without its problems mind...I’ve had the 4L in a gt4, I’ve now got the 3.0TT in a 992.

Is it the engine or the turbos that cause problems?
I'm curious as I may be heading that way for my next car.
Engine… turbochargers… all engine in my book. But yes, there have been some turbo failures and no doubt some other issues too.I'm curious as I may be heading that way for my next car.
So far, mine is behaving. I think it’s a great engine: responsive and lots of performance from low down. Surprisingly economical too. I think that problems are pretty rare.
