Morning All,
Just wondering if anyone has had problems with this particular coolant leak on any of your cars.
I have a 911 997.2 and have recently noticed a slight leak on the hard plastic coolant pipe that connects the water pump to the thermostat housing.
Apparently it is a common issue but on my holy grail of DIY (You Tube) I cannot find any clips of anyone repairing this.
Any help would be appreciated as I know it would be a bit of a pain to DIY, but I have had the back end of car and exhausts off recently to change drive belt and spark plugs so not really phased by having a go myself, just really wanted to know what was involved.
Porsche specialists have stated about 1k to do it for me.
I think same set up is on the flat 6 Cayman and Boxsters and possibly 991.1 models.
Cheers guys.
Barry.

I had the same problem with 991.1 and was quoted 1k by an independent. This included replacement of water pump and thermostat. Recommended while it was in pieces.

Unfortunately, the bolts holding the water pump housing were seized. To get them out, the housing was damaged. I ended up with a 2k bill!

Oh the joys of Porsche motoring. However, that’s the only problem I have had with the car over 7 years…
