Dilemma

Carrera base 2021 with 10K mules (95K pounds) or Carrera S 2020 with 15K miles (87K pounds)
Same specs and colour otherwise
Any advise?

thanks

Carrera S.

Plus a bonus if it is a 2021 model.

OMG,,,, I was thinking along those lines but I have already put down a deposit on the base Carrera 2021... god.... and the S pops up in a different dealer

I would get the car that comes free with 10,000 mules smile

I’m a big fan of the base Carrera, it’s more than quick enough on UK roads, and from experience it probably puts out considerably more horsepower than the quoted 380bhp.
In those two examples though, the S seems like better value.

Get the S, save money and gain bragging rights for later.

Just be honest with the dealer and say that their car is overpriced relative to this so no option but to politely withdraw.

Based on what you've posted the S looks like a much better deal.

I wouldn't drop 95 large on something because I felt awkward. I wouldn't spin the dealer a line either mind. Just be honest about your situation. Not sure what the dealer could do, though, as personally even if they were both £87k, I'd still take the S.

Honestly, neither sound that great a deal.

There are enough OPC cars that are 2023 with a few hundred miles on them for £95-105k now. If you speak to them they have more than advertised.

They way I look at it...

Why buy one that is 3 or 4 years old now to try and save £5-10k?

In another 3 years one will feel almost new while others will be 7 years old. Think about where that will put values of each.

Those prices are silly. Walk away and buy this new unregistered 992 carrera T at £99,900.

Or a year old one at £89k if that is your max budget.

Excluding options a brand new Carrera is £97k, a Carrera S is £110k. Very hard to justify the prices you are being quoted for cars that are several years old. Lead time for new car orders I would guess is 3-4 months now (don’t believe what the dealers tell you when trying to sell used cars).

That's incredible value for a 9m old car with £1k miles. Much better than the OP's options.

If you are struggling to make a decision, buy something much cheaper. That way you can have it for a while to figure out if its for you. If you don't like it you can sell it and lose less money as its cheap.

Selling an expensive car is more likely to lose you more money than a cheaper one.

No problem with wind buffeting in the targa, but I found it a pain to have to stop to put roof up or down - much preferred the convertible to live with because of ease of use.

I found the base Carrera a bit too lacking in torque at motorway speeds, the S is all you need, although I have a turbo S now, so obviously I thought I needed more!

S cab for the win IMHO.
