Delivery time from Germany to the UK
Discussion
Hi all,
I’m currently waiting for delivery of my new 992 Turbo S. The dealer has informed me the car completed production on 25 April and is now waiting for delivery to a main distribution centre in England. Forgive my lack of knowledge on this process but it seems like a finger in the air estimate from my local dealer. Can anyone share some more information.
On the plus side, it seems the model price has increased. On the configurator the car I have ordered is coming up at 12K more, although I locked in my price previously. Has Porsche increased its prices?

Unfortunately for various reasons, it is almost impossible to know when your car will get on a ferry to be brought to the UK. There are seemingly thousands of cars already there, some waiting for parts (e.g. Taycans awaiting replacement heaters).I’m currently waiting for delivery of my new 992 Turbo S. My car was completed the day after yours and my dealer confirmed it was at the port (Emdem) the next day. I’m hoping it arrives at the dealer in the next 2-3 weeks.
Porsche increased prices by around 10% last month (base price and options) in the UK.
Yup even in “normal” times the system OPC’s have telling them when a care is due is unbelievably inaccurate. One of my cars turned up at the dealer when the system was telling them it was at Emden.
If there are no delays the best you can hope for is two weeks from Emden.
Once the car is in the UK they wait until there is a transporter full of cars to go to the OPC which could be a day or could be a week. Then they have to PDI etc

Rather disappointing given the value of the car. This is the first time I have spent more than 100K on a car and I thought the process would be more refined. Last year I bought a X5M50i and BMW constantly kept me in the loop.
I will only be using the car at the weekend, special occasions, so hopefully it keeps its value. Where I live the roads are pretty poor and we have speed bumps everywhere.

Sit tight and buckle in..
Some models will be on Stop sale awaiting parts
Logistics are a nightmare both Emden and UK.
No point hassling your Dealer, honestly they are in the Dark, other than trying to speak to planning which are overwhelmed
Sorry for the bad news, its been like this for what seems years now, which i suppose it has been what with Covid..
I had a Cayenne turbo GT sat at Emden from December to End of February due to one small part needed, took delivery in March in the end

If your car has completed the production process it won’t be long, from my experience when buying a new car it’s always been around 4 before it lands in the dealer from completed production. My last car just turned up without the dealer even being aware it was coming that day. If it’s completed production they will be keen to get it to you and paid for. Congratulations on the new car 👍
Congrats on the new car. Unfortunately as others have said it can be as quick as a couple of weeks or much much longer. It depends whether it still needs parts fitting to it and for lots of vehicles this is done at Emden. This happened with my C4S which was sat there for 5 weeks from September last year awaiting bits along with vast numbers of other 911s. Nothing I have seen suggests anything has improved. From Emden cars come to Sheerness for southern dealers and Grimsby for northern dealers. Once it gets to the UK it’s usually only a couple of days before it’s at the dealer. Hope this helps. Just don’t sign on to the car functions on the app etc until it’s actually at the dealer. I made that mistake and got them to credit me for the period it was awaiting delivery.

That’s a waste - a key part of the appeal of a 911 is the usability.Sport_Turismo_GTS said:

My 992 T was built on the 14 Apr; landed at Emden on the 21-Apr, and got to Sheerness on the 15-May.I’m currently waiting for delivery of my new 992 Turbo S. I am told I should receive it before 26 May, but that is a guesstimate, as Sheerness has its own backlog.
Hopefully our cars get delivered soon.
My GT4 RS has been sat at Emden since 14th April with absolutely no sign of when it might get shipped. To say I am pissed off is a massive understatement. My OPC is waiting for 14 cars at the moment, all built, all sold, all stuck at Emden. They are tearing their hair out. According to the internet there are tens of thousands of VW group vehicles stuck there and it’s a lottery what gets shipped. Apparently it’s all down to VW not forward booking enough shipping capacity last year. I think their planning assumption was that the UK was in recession therefore they wouldn’t sell many cars. The other possible reason is that they don’t give a flying f
k about the UK now that we are no longer in the Euro club. Just another annoying third world customer.

I have just had an email from my dealer ( on a Sunday!) telling me the car is built.
No pics on the app!
Delivery end of June early July.
How it can take over a month is beyond me !

I can understand the chips shortages, the wiring looms made in invaded UA… that is out of OEMs control. However, distribution should be better organised. I read that Emden has unprecedented backlog across many brands, but I don’t understand why would Sheerness have a corresponding backlog. Am I missing some key info?
