Evening All
I am collecting a new (to me) 991.2 GT3 on Saturday and am concerned my current insurer is going to let me down (waiting for them to come back to confirm the change of car). So potentially I need to change insurer tomorrow and will at least want a quote or 2 in case.
I need more than 5000 miles per year and track cover for 3 or 4 track days per year which I currently have but on a C2S.
I’ve done a bit of searching and looks like my shortlist should be:
Classicline
Footman James
Manning
I understand Locktons only do 5000 miles and PCGB track days so not on my list.
Any particular recommendations for best place to start or indeed other alternatives would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Classic line did a very competitive quote for me (albeit on a GT4) last week which included track cover for up to 10 days but they did require a tracker which I couldn’t have activated before the cover started and there was no grace period. Ended up staying with the current insurer (Admiral) but will probably look to change it I do get any track days organised.
I’ve ended up taking the 5 day drive away insurance from Porsche, mainly as I ran out of time! I was insured via A Plan who wouldn’t give track cover because of the value, contrary to Fistenberger above, strangely. Feels like I need to try Classicline on Tuesday - car will be garage so should be fine. Thanks again for the input
Further clarification on Lockton's and track days. You can go on a UK circuit, PCGB organised track day without notifying them.
If you want to do a non-PCGB event, you can ask. There are about ten questions (e.g. your experience, overtaking rules, instruction available etc) that they put to their underwriters. I have never had one declined, including charity passenger events.

I'm in the same boat with insurance for a 991.2, admiral the cheapest but no trackday cover or agreed value but I like the fact that I don't have to activate the tracker. Classicline a few quid more but with all the add ons however I do have to activate the tracker. What are the thoughts on tracker as it seems to be a problematic addition, and do the insurance company use the data in the event of any claims?

If you have the option don't go with the tracker especially if its the Porsche version.I have a 992 with Classicline at £1650 and it must have an active tracker.
Collected my car 2nd March and alarm went off several times on 28th March and tracker locked the car and went totally dead. The car is still with Porsche OPC and Germany are trying now to resolve. The car has been with Porsche longer than me if you have the option avoid the tracker better not to have the risk.

With regards to Admiral vs Classicline vs Any other insurer check the policy docs and see what the differences are because there will be some. Insurance companies all make the same kind of margins….its about frequency of pay out (how easily they pay out and whether they delay for days or weeks) and whether you can use a repairer of your choice etc.
I don’t know if it is still the case but I left Admiral many years ago I when I found out that they only paid out on the value of a base spec car…despite them being extremely fastidious in knowing every single spec item on the car. That is effectively why they were cheaper back then…..because in a total loss event they paid out 10% less than most other insurers.

Lockton has recently changed policy and now will only cover PCGB days with no exceptions. At least that's what they told me when I asked for cover on my GT4 RS a month ago.If you want to do a non-PCGB event, you can ask.
