993 Turbo to 997 Turbo
Discussion
As per subject, I've had my 993 Turbo now for 11 years (and loved every part of it but just not using it enough) and thinking about making the move to a 997 Turbo. Not decided yet on 997.1 or 997.2 depending on finding the right one.
Has anyone else made the move and liked it or have any comparisons? I have driven a 997.1 years ago before I got the 993 and remember the pure speed sensation in a modern car (at the time).
I just want something a little more modern and what I can use on a more day to day basis than the 993 but still love the Turbo kick!

No experience of them but this Turbo S seems rather special

I've owned the 993>996>997 turbo, all great cars, the 993 was my favourite and sorely missed, the 997 is by far the best all rounder and quite the looker.
Every generation moves the bar on, the 997 will feel luxurious compared to the 993, but thats part of the 993 character, if you're ready for something more modern the 997 will be perfect, especially as it was the last manual 911 Turbo. I'd stick with the 997.1/1.5 if you want to hedge your bets on future value.
I'd chat to some of the big indies about your plans.. Exciting times

Thanks all and yes the heart says keep the 993 but the mind says get something more modern and try something different and let someone else be the new custodian going forward of a great car for years to come. I am embarrassed that I have only actually driven the car for about 10 miles in the last year for many reason's! I've seen a couple of 997's and the above black 997.2 S looks lovely and will probably make a trip there to see what's it looks like!
