I have a 2020 911 and the key battery needs replacing. Does anyone know if this has to be done by an OPC (so it can be programmed) or is it a simple new for old replacement at Timpsons/Halfords? Thanks for sharing experiences.

Simple DIY. Instructions in the vehicle manual - or the Porsche Good To Know app.

that doesnt seem to have last long, im surprised, I had my 2018 key used daily for 4 years and didnt need replacing.

Is it the keyless entry option, maybe that uses more power, but if it needed replacing within the 3 yr warranty, id be asking Porsche personally as I think it should last longer than that?

Little surprised I have owned 3 Porsches over the last 6.5 years never had to replace battery , ok its my daily but over last 2 years that has meant a lot of sitting around as we are still hybrid working , would be tempted to query with OPC ,granted it wont be large cost but doesnt seem right

Never replaced a key battery in six years, but those damn tracker fobs seem to need a new CR2032 battery at least every six months.

Thanks everyone for your insights. I hadn't considered it a warranty matter but will check with the OPC in case it has been using more power than it should.

Don’t waste your time (or theirs), just buy another battery!.

If this one doesn’t last long then maybe at that point you mention mention it to the OPC.
