992 gt3 rs allocation
Discussion
It's likely that you are not being singled out.
There has been a lot of speculation about allocations ... and a lot to suggest that the overs that were generated were often on a circular basis including the OPC.
On this basis it was relatively easy to buy a lot of cars and be a good customer for future allocations, but not so easy to get on the ladder, particularly if you were a good customer who bought a series of cars but to use and keep for a normal model lifetime ....
Some would say this is short-termism, but the OPC's control the sale of new cars and one must assume that Porsche couldn't or wouldn't implement a better way.
In OPC's defence, it would appear that Porsche have been very demanding on sales numbers .... and now they are struggling to supply ?

Lots os people here have been through similar. Truth is all OPC’s/Franchise groups are slightly different in terms of when they get allocated cars and who decides.
My guess is on a car like this once the OPC has decided which customers it wants to get a car it then goes up the food chain.

These cars, the GT3RS should only go to customers that do, at the vary least track days.
Really after going on the last Porsche Track day I would say they should only go to customers that have a race licence!!
That way there will at least be a chance that they are in the right hands and we may get to see some of them going around the local tracks.

There might be some truth. But you don’t need to be Federer to deserve to play with a Pro Staff as a passion age but flawed tennis driver… on driving skills, I deserve none of the GT cars o was lucky to own. But did I enjoy them, treat them with respect, took the time to track and tried to learn how to drive them. Oh yes!Really after going on the last Porsche Track day I would say they should only go to customers that have a race licence!!

Yeah, and Boxster's should only be sold to hairdressers, Cayenne's to people who only tow horse-boxes, Macan's to yummy-mummy's for the school-run, Taycan's should only go to tree-huggers and base-level 992 Carrera's to the poor. FFS! Really after going on the last Porsche Track day I would say they should only go to customers that have a race licence!!

Haha, it's a tough life being so poor. Up early for the paper round, 16 hour shift with a 5 minute break for a cheese butty and then crying into my cup of Horlicks before bed. throt said:
I want to see them on the road too.
My OPC just getting two at the mo.
Done 22 k miles in my .2 RS and very rarely see another on the road ( have not seen one other car in 4 months ) as not been to track days for a while as race season taking track time up ..My OPC just getting two at the mo.
But just users not garage queens ,should be the aim .
But even then a friend owns a 991 Touring and loves it , always talking about it , only done 500 miles but he really loves it

10k plus miles on mine now and the engine continues to improve.
The garaged GT keepers really don't know what they are missing.

Did my 9th track day of 2022 yesterday at Silverstone in my RS WP and always see many Porsche GT cars there. The new 992RS is an even more compromised track weapon with zero front boot space and spring rates three times as stiff as the 991.1GT3 RS. 10k plus miles on mine now and the engine continues to improve.

Me, my son and TDT were debating the lack of frunk space of the 992RS at SS yesterday and my son decided to settle the debate by trying his hardest to force his crash helmet into the space behind the roll cage. Despite his best efforts he failed which makes the latest RS completely impractical to attend a track day two up with an overnight stay.
I'd love to get one but for my useage my current RS WP with front boot suits me way better.

FarQue, you have probably summed up the Porsche Customer Demographics very well there, it sounds to me like your are a little frustrated? is your dealer trying to push you into a Boxster??

Doesn’t the carbon fibre roll cage (that comes with the Weissach package) have a different shape, which therefore might allow bags or helmets to more easily be stored in the rear?Me, my son and TDT were debating the lack of frunk space of the 992RS at SS yesterday and my son decided to settle the debate by trying his hardest to force his crash helmet into the space behind the roll cage. Not sure that justifies the £25k cost though!

Just been out to check the car and with more time and in our garage decided to repeat the process. To clarify the problem yesterday it was getting stuff behind the fixed LWBS. My son managed to get his helmet behind the seats today but only by moving the driver's seat as rearward as possible and moving the passenger seat to its most forward and highest setting allowing squeezing the helmet between. Not sure that justifies the £25k cost though!
Still a bit of a faff especially with two helmets which will roll about in the rear unless fixed to the cage. Still need to stuff two overnight bags back there as well. Not impossible but a real pain nevertheless !
