GT3 Puncture - replace 1 or 2 tyres and OPC or not?

GT3 has a flat rear tyre - Cup 2. I can’t feel or see anything in it so what are peoples views on
1. Can these be repaired?
2. If not do you have to replace both rears?
3. Would you risk Kwik Fit or pay the OPC premium?
Cheers
Do you have centre lock wheels? If so, that might narrow your options down. If it was me I’d pay the OPC premium (get a few quotes and see how close they are prepared to get) and I’d definitely replace two tyres and keep the other one as an emergency spare.1. Can these be repaired?

A friend of mine had a puncture on his GT4, he took it to a Kwik-Fit equivalent and they damaged his wheel, He only noticed a couple of days later when he was washing his car and when he took it back they refused responsibility. He now wishes he had taken it to his OPC, might have been more expensive but would have meant no damage to his wheel. OPC will not fix punctures btw, it has to be a new tyre.
If the puncture is not in the sidewall or curve of the tyre wall it can be repaired, even someone on here replied on here some time ago who drove on track with repaired punctures and no problem.
Agree on the big companies but a good independent tyre company will treat your car with respect and be competitive on pricing.

if you want scratches and the wheels nuts tightened more than they should be, Kwik Fit all the way. 1. Can these be repaired?

Don't go anywhere near KF they are clueless especially with centrelocks. I wouldn't even take a third hand pram to them never mind a car such as the GT3.
If you are in Porsche Assist get free recovery to the nearest/your OPC.
How much tread is left on your two back tyres would imo determine whether you go down the repair route if at all possible but personally if they show more than 35% wear I would get new tyres and if you get a price from Oponeo or similar they will deliver to your OPC or your OPC will probably price match.

The joy of C/Ls.
Very limited access to options outside of the OPC network. I tried Kwik Fit and Black Circles (customer services confirmed they cannot retighten C/Ls).
As suggested by others, it's better to change both if there has been significant wear on the tyres. It makes a sink puncture a time consuming hassle and costly experience.
Worth trying to haggle a price at the OPC, but standing in the showroom with a car suffering a puncture is not the best negotiating position to be in.

OPCs won't repair tyres, as mentioned above.
Do you have a good Indy near you? I'd take it to them and see if you can get a repair done if the tyres are otherwise in good condition with life left in them. Otherwise get a price from the OPC for a tyre/pair and see how close they can get to Blackcircles' price.
I got a rear puncture not long after I got my car and I had it repaired. It's since done quite a few miles and 3 track days and it's still going strong. Repairs are perfectly fine otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to be done.

Yes, these can be repaired as per the same conditions that apply to any other tyre.
If replacing, I would replace a pair if the other was at or below 50% wear.
I personally would remove the wheel myself and take to a trusted tyre shop. I use Costco personally as the team there are good, if the team were not good I would go elsewhere. If you have centre locks the tools to remove them are not too expensive, I started a thread on this recently.

I think 5mm is lower than 50% wear are they not about 6/7mmm new? Get it repaired for less than £20( cost I paid 2 years ago) and get a few thousand more miles on them, some people that takes about 5 years lol!
I would go for a repair too. Cup I's used to come with 4/5mm tread when new. I am not sure on Cup II although I just bought a set for my car. At a guess I would say they are hardly used with 5mm remaining. I have repaired a tyre that was used on track and did not have any issues. You just need to weigh up the following: age of the tyre, where the damage is, how much tread left, how much track work will you be doing until season end and the cost.I would not use Kwik Fit and mine are not even centre locks. Use a good independant and you can always supervise if you are not confident in their abilities. Tyrepoint Services in Maidstone come highly regarded and have a good stock of Michelin.
