991.1 TT/TTS vs 991.2S/GTS
Discussion
Currently drive a 997.2S and its been great to experience a naturally aspirated 'modern classic'. Getting a bit ahead of myself as have not owned it for long but want the next 911, to be something that is a noticeable step change up - personally I cant see the 991.1S or 991.2S being that with performance alone? 20-30bhp more e.t.c
Given the pricing right now I feel the comparison would be:
991.1 TT vs 991.2S ~ £80k mark
and
991.1 TTS vs 991.2GTS ~£90k mark
In an ideal world I would hope the 991.1TTS prices dip a little as they seems to have gone up the most and I would get that for around 80-85£ later in the year.
Pros for the TT and TTS:
In both scenarios I feel the TT and TTS just outweigh the newer car - performance/thrill factor + already adjusted for depreciation
Pros for the 991.2s/gts:
that said getting a 3-4 year newer car for around the same price also seems great? and surely the 991.2s, particularly the 991.2GTS wont really depreciate that much from here?
991.2GTS could be the viable option given its got 444bhp, and all the modern comforts (but again just having your phone for satnav beside the screen does the job of apple carplay right?)
Conclusion:
I feel 991.1TTS and hope for the price to drop or monitor the 991.2 GTS

I think the 991 will feel very different to a 997 and you should drive it. Bags more refinement without IMO a loss of thrills....but definitely not as 'old school' in terms of involvement and feel as a 997. Depends where on that curve you want to be in this regard.[quote] 991.2GTS could be the viable option given its got 444bhp, and all the modern comforts (but again just having your phone for satnav beside the screen does the job of apple carplay right?)
