Anyone had issues with the 991 windscreen washers not working on frosty mornings? The most recent time I was sure the nozzles weren’t frozen over, and there’s nothing wrong with the hoses.

My only guess is that the fluid is freezing in the reservoir, but I’m sure I put stuff in which was good to -5 or thereabouts. It might still be the fluid Porsche put in at the least service though.

Try a higher concentration of washer fluid, and purge it all through the system once you’ve topped it up

I have similar problem’s although the headlamp washers work. I thought the screen washers were heated with the rear screen, mirrors etc.

I don’t think the screen wash Porsche supply and refill at service is winter grade. I’m also lead to believe you shouldn’t mix the standard garage stuff with it.
My solution is to run it low then flush out and fill 50;50 with the generic stuff.

Sounds like your fluid is a bit too diluted. I use the Porsche stuff for now, and it advises (for temperate climates) to use one ‘portion’ that you squeeze into the well at the top of the bottle.

I double that and have had no issues (not a 991, however). Just run the new liquid through the system so it’s in the pipes etc..

Get some more concentrate in there sharpish. Mines was way too weak, and it froze and the pipe burst right where is hinges going from the body to the bonnet. Pain to get to - I ended up putting a bit of brake line in to connect and get me going. Need to sort a new pipe out now.
