I’m hoping for some advice. I’d like to upgrade the brakes on my 2017 991.2 carrera to the S/GTS spec. The rears are the same, so would just require swapping or painting the calipers red. The fronts need the slightly larger 350mm discs and the 6 pot calipers.

This advert has come up on eBay, but is a little contradictory. The 2018 GTS would be a 3 litre rather than 3.8. The front calipers seem to match the part code I need, but the rears have 997 at the start of the part code printed on them.

It may be that these are still what I’m looking for, but I’m struggling to remember/find the differences in the GTS brakes from 997.2 through to 991.2. Does anyone know from experience?

I think the disc construction changed from 997 to 991, the latter being a single cast two piece design allowing better cooling.

Thank you for the advice. The local OPC say they don’t do ‘upgrades’, which is interesting, but I’ll get some quotes from local Indies. Another option is to stick on 350mm girodiscs, which come with little spacers and bolts to get the calipers into the correct position.

Alcon/PFC/Giro are good. I'm running Alcon with PFC08 pads.
