I’m hoping it’s just a fuse….

Controls all look normal but no fan action at all??

Anybody had this or similar?

Thx

Very common on 981 cars, I assume it's the same on 991s.
  • Ensure engine/electrics are off, put your key in your pocket
  • Lift bonnet
  • Remove plastic cover over the battery/scuttle panel
  • Locate large plastic box on the nearside next to the washer fluid bottle
  • Lift lid and reach in to spin the aircon fan within by hand
  • Start car and check blower now works
  • Replace everything

It's a really common issue. On my previous 991.2 it was replaced under warranty after failing at this time of year. The fan 'sticks', but as a temporary measure you just open the frunk and remove the top shroud beneath the wipers and then unclip the cabin filter box. Stick your hand in and physically move the fan blades (engine & fan off at the time). It should then work ok for a day or two.

It works for more than a couple of days. I think I did it twice in 4 years on my 981.

Thanks all again!

I started with fuses as that seemed a basic first step - fuse fine.

Followed the guidance and a few YouTube vids and exposed the fan. It spun when flicked after an initial ‘stick or resistance’.

Working fine now!!

Will flag with OPC re the Spring service if it lasts that long frown

Nothing service can do other than replace it, so if it sticks again in the near future book it in and see what they say.

I was just planning on freeing it off every so often. It only seemed to happen on the odd winter day, never an issue in decent weather.
