Are there really 47 GT3 tourings in the UK (C16)?
Discussion
Lately, I keep seeing references to there only being 47 tourings that were C16 uk cars. This is written in the forum topics and used sometimes when people/dealers are selling these cars.
So is this myth or do we have concrete evidence of this number? who first said there are 47?
So at the weekend I started to count and build a very basic sheet to collect as many different cars as possible.
I am currently up to number 35...
Number 1 on the list was easy, that's my one, from new.
2 and 3 are Chris Harris's cars!!
From then on I just used car adverts, for sale and sold, I think about 28 have been re-sold on my list.
Some cars are from Instagram and 1 or 2 from members posts and pics on here.
I now want to try to get up to 47!
So, can you guys help?
If you have owned, nearly owned, know an owner or have any other info please could you send me a mail?
I am not sure I should post what info I have at the moment (its in rough shape) and I don't want to infringe anybody's personal info.
I might build a small website of pics and basic spec for the found cars, I am sure in time all will come to the public domain anyway.
By the way, this is what happens when you lay in the sunny garden all day with nothing to do!
I hope you guys can help!

A friend of mine had one and he always said there were less than 100 RHD in the U.K.
Wouldn’t rely on DVLA, as the registered model info can be very unreliable.
You could guesstimate that each U.K. OPC probably sold 2 or 3, but PCGB should know the exact figures. Or, maybe the Club GT3 Register?
Certainly likely to be a lot more 992 Tourings.

Not sure about the 48 No above, but someone that would know told me a while back the 47 had chosen to go with the Touring Spec option. No 50, not 35 or 90, but 47. Personally I don't see how you can use the amount of cars in pictures, adds etc as a reference point as due to high " Market Price" of the Touring Option cars many have changed hands several times. I know the R no of 74 is correct as I have a book on back ground to the car with all the Production Nos for each region.

Absolutely this, there were few bucket seat gen1s so they got premiums so everyone ordered buckets in gen 2 ,but it was the tourings that commanded the big premiums,so every tom dick and harry will be buying the touring 992.Wouldn’t rely on DVLA, as the registered model info can be very unreliable.

Hi Apolo1Edited by APOLO1 on Tuesday 11th August 10:56
I am guessing you know your stuff and some in the know people. Do you believe him/her?
As for the photos, yes its a bit difficult, But I identify each picture, scan for the different colours/options,stitching,belts,trim,wheels,brakes,dials and so on and eliminate the duplicates...
Once the spreadsheet is started it has been easy to cross reference these cars.
Obviously someone can do a wheel colour change or even seat belt colour change and different decals, but options and the cars don't change so easily.
Some adverts even have number plates and chassis numbers. makes it easy then!
Anyway, any more help you can be, please do
Thanks
l have one - hopefully i'll always have this one. there are a few owners on here, but not many. my dealer (mid sussex) only had one other customer spec the 'touring' option. he told me less than 50 cars, which he was told by Porsche GB, but he may be wrong, who knows.

It came up as flippant comment during a conversation a while back now, when chatting about the GT3.2.
With someone that would know the exact No.I would have thought that more would have gone Touring spec Tbh. But its seems lots wanted to been seen that they had a "GT3", the Touring is very much a Q, car Imv I think that's the appeal of it.
Had the option went with the wing...will I regret it in ten year’s time when I hopefully still own my car ? Perhaps !
There was a left hand drive Touring for sale on Mobile.de a couple of months ago in Dark Sea Blue with Silver Trim and Wheels...thought it looked he dogs danglies and maybe if I do decide having a winged GT3 isn’t a car for me any more I’d be sorely tempted by a car like that.

I agree
I’ve always had GT3 cars, but never liked the rear wing really
The touring is how I always wanted it.
As others have said, not a popular option.
Which is, for me. Perfect!
The late launch and availability in the 1.2 GT3 model cycle is one of the reasons there are so few Tourings aroundI’ve always had GT3 cars, but never liked the rear wing really

Beautiful
I like the blue one above too.
Do you know if there was any C16 PTS?
As far as I know nobody in the UK got PTS on any GT3.2I like the blue one above too.
Do you know if there was any C16 PTS?
some are wrapped,
some are not C16 cars
For reference, I have found so far
Carmine X 3
Agate X 5
Graphite X 3
GT Silver X 9
Jet Black or Flat Black X 9
Sapphire X 3
Yellow X 1
White X 4
I am almost sure I have seen a Crayon one but never took any details a year or so ago.
Anyone else know of any genuine colours?
