996 GT2 ceramics Refurb / replacement

Hi - anyone know of a company still refurbing 996 GT2 ceramics? I’ve contacted a couple of the well known specialists and no one seems to have an answer for me.
The alternative is to replace with high quality steels - anyone got any suggestions and is it’s straight swap or will I need a ‘kit’?
It’s not a dedicated track car so I’d rather go down the ceramics refurb route if pos.

Lots of options.
OE Steels: Gen 1 997 Turbo rear discs, Mk 2 966 GT3 front discs.
Fine for fast road use, quiet and cheap, but heavy and being drilled will almost certainly crack prematurely if used on track.
Non OE steels from Alcon, Brembo and Girodisc.
Lighter than the one piece OE steels (by a couple of kgs on average) considerably more expensive, better suited to more agressive pad compounds, being slotted they won’t crack and will cope with heavy trackday duty. Replacement discs cheaper (as you’ll only be buying the rotor itself)
You will feel the additional weight of the steels over the PCCB’s, the OE ceramic discs are something like 5-6kgs, the two piece Alcon’s, Brembo and Girodisc weight 9kgs, and the one piece OW steels a mighty 11kgs each.
The ST (Surface Transforms) replacement ceramic discs are available from JZM, they’re far far more durable than the OE PCCB’s, but a set will probably cost you the thick end of £9k. But they are fit and forget.
They weigh approx a kilo heavier than the OE PCCB’s (but still waaaay lighter than any of the steel discs).
The OE PCCB’s are light but not durable, I’ve not heard anything negative about the reconditioned PCCB’s, but neither have I heard of anyone doing large mileages with them either.
I’m not sure what they cost, but I’d want to do my due diligence to ensure the reconditioned items are durable and reliable before shelling out for them.

I tried to speak to Surface Transforms, called them daily for a week or so - they never picked up the phone, never responded to any messages left.

You’ll be far better off talking to one of their agents, and in this case I’d go with JZM.
And if you aren't doing heavy track use I'd look at refurbing your PCCB's.
I don't know what the cost through JZM is now, but I paid £2000 for a full set of refurbished CR PCCB discs ... and had them fitted (my old discs were an exchange) ... and they were as good as new.
I have the ST's on my GT4, and currently they are saving me four sets of brake pads a year (£4k ??).
By my reckoning in two years time the "spare" set of GT4 PCCB's that I have will have cost me nothing ... and I will still have my ST's on the car. They are fantastic ... and standard fit on the AM Valkyrie ...
I don't know what the cost through JZM is now, but I paid £2000 for a full set of refurbished CR PCCB discs ... and had them fitted (my old discs were an exchange) ... and they were as good as new.

I can't answer that question but the McLaren and Ferrari discs do look much better to me than the laminated PCCB's.
It's as-if the laminate of the PCCB's isolates the heat from the thermal mass and surface area of the main disc, hub carrier and wheel ... so the only direction in which it can dissipate is directly to the environment and into the pad material.
On my Cayman R when the PCCB's finally wore out the laminate was so thin that the substrate formed triangles of laminate that finally either fell out or evaporated ... leaving the very course substrate to shred the remaining pad material ...

Where did you get your Cayman R PCCB's refurbished? I have PCCB's on my Cayman R and my fronts need doing.
