They've said "over 500 bhp" for the Speedster....so assuming it has the RS engine that means it's somewhere between 500bhp and 525 bhp! It's a good point about the Speedster meaning RS is more likely.Although I still don't think you can count on Porsche to have this sorted. Their recent history with this stuff is woeful.

More a reason to think. My understanding is that the race cars will be NA until 20/21. So by dint that means that a version of a road car will also be NA. As for down on power. I just don't see a halo product like the speedster being down on bhp, same for any future GT3/RS. The first batch has been delivered, I've seen several. Future batches? That's what is unknown.
I think the Speedster concept currently in existence has the RS engine with no GPF, hence the statements on power and that it's not confirmed as a definite model. If released, it could still have the RS engine but with a GPF and fewer horses. Not an issue for a new model but I can't see the EU getting any more GT3s or GT3RSs if the GPF affects power that much and/or it costs too much to re-test per unit sold.

Big issue surely has to be if GPF puts the RS power at or below GT3 levels. I can't see them making a second batch if that's the case.
They can remap/tweak it back the engine will do >600BHP.GT3 to RS is just a remap I guess as the engine are the same, with the normal GT3 having the forced direct air ducts at the Back GT2 RS style. 3 RS has more intake issues than the GT3 by the looks of things, very strange.
There’s a fair bit online about gasoline particulate filters but not much on their impact on power as it all focuses on reducing emissions obviously. Diesel particulate filters are tried and tested as we know but almost exclusively on engines with turbochargers and this may be the problem for N/A petrol engines.
It seems likely that petrol engines with turbos give more room for manoeuvre on power with the filters fitted whilst staying inside the limits for particulate emissions. I’m sure the current RS engine can go to 600+ bhp but I bet it can’t do that inside some nanny state EU emissions limit!
You would have thought that Porsche would be out in front of this as it’s not a new thing and all the OEMs have been on the case for some time now, so there will probably be more RS for the UK but short of any real info, who knows?
Hard to imagine the N/A petrol engine surviving for long though and the 991 speedster could really be the last hurrah.
