Hi guys, can anyone help, ive just bought a 2014 turbo s with just 2000 miles on it,car is faultess but today on driving it long distance where i could stretch her legs so to speak,it developed a boost fault.

Under hard accelaration the car pulled srong and then started to faulter almost honding back untill i changed gear and then it pulled again and then lost power,i then found boost was almost non existant at 0.1 bar, after pulling over and switching off the car performed well again untill you wellied it and same fault.

Any ideas please as i havent got a warranty on it yet as private sale.

thx guys Simon

Hi Simon

I have a 14’ model too and had a similar issue. Firstly... shame on you for the mileage biglaugh just kidding.

Mine turned out to be a faulty turbo actuator. Was replaced under warranty. If the service managers comments were to be believed the part alone was £600.

^^^^ very common problem on VTG turbos especially cars which aren't used much. Probably just needs a bit of grease/lubricant to free up the actuator.

Likewise, mine suffered from reduced boost and it turned out to be a turbo actuator, which was then replaced under warranty. I did however get 0.4 bar from the other turbo so not quite as bad as yours, maybe both yours are sticking if indeed that is the problem

Have had this a couple of times on Gen 1 Turbo S. Air mass sensor. Any OPC will be able to fault code it.
