996 GT3 motor mount options?
Discussion
I changed the mounts on my old 996 GT2 to the RSS type and was pleasantly surprised by the results. The shift felt more precise and I barely noticed the extra noise or vibration. Was thinking of perhaps going a step further and trying solid mounts (Rennline or similar), on my current 996 Mk.2 GT3.
I'd appreciate feedback on solid mounts or whatever you've found that works well? I have noticed that the RSS mounts seem to have jumped in price since I last bought a pair! My main goal being a slicker shift.

I've had 964RS mounts in mine for at least 5 years (125+ trackdays) & they're still fine. Solid mounts will transmit a massive amount of noise & vibration into the shell & can eventually lead to a cracked engine carrier. Fine for a race car, not so great in a road car.
As you're trying to improve the shift, it's worth considering changing the gearbox mount to the one used in the 997.2 RS. I also use the 997.2 RS gearshift, which has metal bushes to take the slop out of the plastic bushes used on previous shifts. Those 2 mods combined with Cup cables makes it just about perfect imo.
