Finally had it confirmed (in writing) from Porsche GB that the engine in it's entirety is covered for 10 years from delivery date / 120K miles, whichever comes first.

Thats great news!

Did you find out if the engine warranty needs a 'normal' OPC warranty to be valid?

What I mean is, can you own a 991.1 GT3 with a sharkwerks exhaust and Pilot 4S tyres and no OPC warranty but still have the 10 year engine cover?

And is the price of the Extended Warranty reduced to reflect the fact the engine is now covered seperately by Porsche ? Somehow I bet not !

Red, was this something you had asked for specifically or a communication to all existing owners?

Thanks
Fred

no, its a stand alone warranty on the engine & all its internal parts

I got no-where last year when I enquired, so I contacted the new Porsche MD.
I actually got an email back, stating:

Thank you for your email addressed to Alexander Pollich, our Managing Director.

I am sorry to read of the issues you have described regarding your Porsche GT3. Please accept my apologies on behalf of Porsche Cars Great Britain Limited.

With regards to your Porsche GT3 and the 10 year warranty, I can confirm that the warranty on internal engine components will last for ten years as from the new vehicle delivery date, or until the total mileage is 194,000 kilometres or 120,000 miles, depending on which comes first.

I appreciate your concern that you were not notified of the warranty. Please be assured that there was no intention to cause you any frustration.

Thank you for contacting Alexander and for your continued support in Porsche.

Will it reduce the cost of the 'normal' extended warranty ?... what do you think....
