There we go - it’s the end of the NA GT3
Discussion
Had to end I suppose:
“Sadly, the 992 GT3 is expected to lose its intoxicating naturally aspirated 4.0-liter engine in favor of a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat six. The good news? It will reportedly be rated at 550 hp.
When do these new 911s arrive? Here’s what we know:
• October 2018: Carrera 2S and Carrera 4S coupés revealed, with first customer deliveries February 2019.
• January 2019: Carrera 2S and Carrera 4S cabriolet unveiled, with cars, cars in dealers from April.
• April 2019: Entry-level Carrera 2/4 in coupé and convertible form launched, with sales starting July.
• September 2019: 911 turbo coupé and Carrera 2/4 GTS unveiled, and will be on sale from February 2020. “

I will NEVER forget the silver 911 turbo with tartan interior in an empty car park in Aviemore in the mid 70s
and reading all the reviews of how FANTASTIC it performed
can you so well informed chaps explain precisely where Porsche are getting it wrong !! with turbo charging engines?
Don't think they're getting anything wrong as they are driven by the market and emissions regulations.and reading all the reviews of how FANTASTIC it performed

The turbo brand has been diluted though imo

genuine question
why don't they just keep building 991 GT3s while the standard 992s are built
an extra 2y of GT3s to the market so more genuine buyers would get the option of buying new
it would only hurt speculators which is no bad thing
Porsche know that the speculator premium is usually only temporary and also that scarcity equals desirability why don't they just keep building 991 GT3s while the standard 992s are built
