Apparently there will be a GT3 based speedster released next year, get your deposits in now!

Spike Feresten and Jerry Seinfeld were talking about it on a podcast.

I cant imagine what you will have to do to get one.

From about 54mins in on the latest post 12/13/2017 https://www.podcastone.com/spikes-car-radio

I've read a few posts on this across the various forums...obviously interesting... another option.
Will they just put this engine in everything now?

There's a never ending list of 'must have'/'ultimate' cars coming from PAG these days. This speedster, a potential road legal RSR type car, another potential mid engine special, and this is on top of the 'ultimate road car' R and the 'ultimate 911' gt2rs recently....hehe

But if you think about it. Is it not repeating what came out in the 997 range, aside to the R that was the result of the Anniversary of the original R, and the Turbo SLE, that is a show case for the exclusive division.

997
Gen 1 RS 3.6 and then 3.8 and 4.0
GT3
Gen 1 and 2
997 Speedster

997
GT2RS

991
RS, Gen 1 and Maybe Gen2 and Maybe another
991 Speedster
GT3 , Gen 1 and 2

991
GT2RS

So whilst it might seem a lot, Imv its no different to what has gone before, even one down due to no GT2 in 991.

You have to laugh at the "Porsche has release the GT3 Touring" as they're not happy about R prices" stuff.

The 997 Speedster was only 356 units if that's repeated this thing will be utterly mental money

I hope they sell a road legal RSR, as I have just bought the number plate RS18 RSR....

Will it be full fat gt3 engine or will it be the watered down version rumoured to be going in the 718 spyder/gt4! The 997 speedster shared its engine with the 997.2gts/ SC not the 997gt3!
So my money is on the gt3 lite engine!

Not quite sure how that is going to work. Cutting the top out of a chassis and punching 500 bhp through it without adding a lot of weight to stop it from turning itself inside out. Unless it has a separate monocoque - but then it wouldn’t be a 911 it would be a 918.

Well if I get a build slot someone else can have it, personally I think the Speedster is the worst looking 911 possible.

I loved the look of the 997 speedster. One of my dream cars. Ultra cool to my eyes. did they only make them in blue and white?
