Hello everybody,

Lately I feel more vibrations in my 997.1 C2 when idling. Engine runs smooth, no changes in revs. Nothing dramatic, just more than it used to be. I suspects my engine mounts are on their ways out.

Since my car is used mostly on the road, solid engine mounts are out of question.
I see 9products do some magnificent looking semi solid ones that are sold in 3 different softness grades:
Soft (road)
Medium (road and track)
Hard (road and track)

Anybody has any experiences wit these? Especially the soft ones?
Or am I better of with OEM Porsche ones for comfort?
Are there any opinions around with after market ones? I could get ones from Swag (cheapest around); Febi Bilstein (a bit more expensive); or Corteco (most expensive non OEM, but still cheaper than OEM).

I will change them myself, as it's a pretty simple and straight forward job. Only 6 nuts.
The gearbox mount seems to be a whole different story though frown

Oh and last question regarding parts number:
The old ones in my car are labeled: 993 375 049 05 blau (resp. 986 375 049 01)
In PET I find two part numbers: 997 375 049 04 (coupe up to '06) and 997 375 049 06 (coupe '06 onwards)
And on 9Products its the same part for 993/996/997/986/987 all variants.
So why does Porsche have different parts for different body styles and different years? confused

Thanks in advance for your thoughts, cheers!

I'm running RSS semi solid mounts which do add a little NVH, but I can live with that as they really help control the mass of that big engine. If you just want comfort, I'm sure a set of fresh OE mounts would do just fine.

Thanks for the reply! I just found this superb thread from mmcd87.
What a great write up in general and especially for the engine mount replacement! And mmcd87 used the exact 9Products 65 Soft mounts I was contemplating.
I think I'm set on these and will order them soon.

And yes, it seems Porsche used basically the same engine mounts for a very long period indeed!!
