996 C2 Coupe Manual with no trickery in winter?
Discussion
I used my 996 3.6 C2 (no traction control) daily on the standard fit Michelin Pilot Sports for the last two winters.
This was on a mix of A and B roads in Wiltshire.
Other than one slight 'moment' coming down a relatively steep hill with black ice on the road it was fine.
I certainly didn't feel the need to drive like a granny everywhere - just with the same level of caution and anticipation I would do in any car in similar circumstances.

Quite how we used to drive them s
t cars from the 70s & 80s, without even ABS, in the winter I'll never know!!

Driven my PSM equipped 996 in the snow a few times, never triggered PSM, in fact I've only ever triggered it once in over 8yrs & that was by deliberating being a dick.

it can be I had a DCT v8 BMW M3 I could not get it off my street with 3 mm snow lolQuite how we used to drive them s

ABS is worse in the snow, one does not want ABS !!!
at least In a 911 you have some weight over the driven wheels, My BMW stopped even if it sleeted !!!
Mercs and BMW's block most motoways when it snows.
Used mine on Falkens in winters with snow up here in the North. Never, ever an issue. Better than any other car I've had in the snow. The only eerie thing is that the steering wheel goes incredibly light.
Also, no issue with lack of traction control either. Pull away at idle and be gentle.
