996 GT3 Failure Indicator
Discussion
Hoping someone can help as I don't have the handbook for the car with me. I had an oil failure message in the OBC (rather than on the instrument panel) come up after normal driving.

I switched the car off and back on again and there is no warning message in the OBC. There is plenty of oil when I check in the OBC. Can anyone help with what the issue is?
Thanks

Did the oil pressure gauge drop when you was driving (leading to squeaky bum time)?
Mine started to do that - turned out the oil pressure switch/sender was dying so had it replaced. The part cost roughly £50+vat + labour time. Theres how to guides on the internet/youtube if you fancy doing it yourself?!
Though i cant remember getting a warning where you did, i just noticed that the pressure needle read 0 but the engine was running fine.

The day I drove home in my GT2 this happened, I stopped immediately and called the dealer, they said probably the sender unit and I drove it, it was fine but intermittent until the next day when it was taken care of with a new sender.
Happened once again in the intervening 11 years and 30k miles.
It's exactly the worst message you want to see when you're tooling about -- or even when cruising I guess.
