997 Rear Disc Change - Warranty Question
Discussion
Hi All,
The rear discs on my 997.2 2S are in need of being swapped out. Local OPC prices are rather expensive for this so looking like I will get an Indy/trusted local to fit them for me. Normally I do get the local OPC to do all the work on the car but at the quoted prices for what it is I will go down the Indy route this time.
I have a Porsche warranty running at the moment and will be renewing again later on in the year, so the parts have to be genuine. I was having a look on Design911 for the replacement parts.
I see I can get a package like this: http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod12672/Brake-Pads... which is Original Equipment Quality (OEQ). Are these OEQ parts likely to be the same as I would get from Porsche at an inflated price for a branded cardboard box?
Or will I have to get the original Porsche discs advertised here at £149 each assuming these are the same as I would get from the OPC: http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod144/Brake-Disc-R...
Thanks in advance.

You want the parts with the right parts numbers on....I very much doubt the cheaper ones have that. Warranty claim wouldn't last 5 mins if you don't use absolutely 100% OEM parts.
