Great news, Porsche 991GT3R cars have just come home 1st 2nd and fifth. What a great start to a new season of endurance racing with a new car. Very well done to all those concerned.smokinbounceclap

The GT3R is not a new racing car for 2017.

I though that it was, as in GT3 gen 2 engine based. I suspect that I am wrong.

Is this the new mid engined version as well ?

It is the GT3 race car with usual layout for customer usage ...... been winning most of the rounds in this series last year as well . Mid engine car is GTE version used by works team in the high level "works " racing with Pro drivers ..... in WEC , Le Mans and Daytona etc

The GT3R racing car was raced last year in GT3 class already with the 9A1 engine. The GTE car ie the mid engine RSR is the new one for this year.
