997.2 4S to 991S

Hi All,

I had a little accident in my 997.2 4s and it was taken out of circulation last month. I have since replaced it with a 991s and it dosnt feel as planted as the 997. I get the impression it is trying to break away in the corners where the 4s would go round on rails. New goodyear tyres all round and dry when pushing it.Do I just need to get used to it, or mayby take it back for a 991 4s.

Any advice?

I think a lot of this is just in the mind, but it doesn't make it seem any less real. I've only driven the 991 GTS and found the front would go first and I needed to really press the throttle to unstick the rear. That was on a track.

Comparing C2S and C4S in 997.2 guise, I'd say the C4S always makes it feel like it holds the road a bit better. I'm not 100% convinced it would ever hang on better, but it feels that way once the traction reduces.

I think you at least should borrow a C4S for the weekend. I expect you'll prefer it.

Having driven both, and currently owning a 997.2 C2S, I can definitely say the 4S holds the road better and like you say feels like it's on rails.

The "fun" factor in the C2S is that the tail will slide a bit whereas the 4S is a more assured drive - and better in snow!

Agree with previous poster that borrowing the 4S and doing your own comparison will be the best way forward to see what suits you and your driving style.
