I've had my 6 year old PDK C2S a couple of weeks and it's making a bit of sound sound when going over minor imperfections in the road (not large pot holes, but just general non-smooth road surfaces). I live in sub urban London so roads are generally pretty standard round here.

So anyway, I've had the car 2 weeks and there seems to be this rattle or squeak which occurs every time I go over a slight imperfection in the road. I've cleared out the car so there's no loose items. Can't for the life of me or 2 friends can we work out where the sound is coming from. It happens at slow speeds (20/30mph) as well as higher speeds.

Also a slight vibration in the steering wheel.

I'm thinking one or the following:

- tyres (but all have 5mm or greater and not cracked
- suspension
- wheel balancing
- geo

Any thoughts?

OPC who I purchased from to investigate but would like to hear of others' opinions.

There is a good chance this will be the front suspension coffin arms. Had the same problem with my 2005 C2S. The grease dries out in the sealed part of the unit and squeaks when you go over uneven ground or speed humps etc. I don't think it's a failure issue, but it is annoying and may get worse in the warmer weather as mine did.

It's a few years back now but I think the cost to replace at my Specialist was around £350.00

I was told at the time that this is a common problem.

I started to get a bit paranoid after hearing a small metallic rattle but then I figured out it was the metallic bit of the key hitting the keychain biggrin

Interesting point, but definitely not that.

Coffin arms looks like the culprit, though hope to hear some more opinions...

Not the classic rear quarter window rattle is it?

I thought there was a recall on the seal of the rear windows but the issue was only on hardtops.

Mine'a a convertible so has proper windows, but will check if that could be the cause.
