Gorge Du Verdon in the winter in a 996

Happy New Year to you all,
I was lucky enough to go down to the Var over New Year to see the Grandparents who live down there, decided to drive & Eurotunnel which didn't turn out to be too bad. About 1150km's (715miles) through France - 2 fuel stops & one food. 11 hours or so. Not the most exciting motorway journey and toll roads without a passenger are a bit of a faf! Not to mention the thick fog & snow showers over northern France.
Anyway, being 50 minutes from the Gorge and on a beautiful 31st of December I drove up, roads were beautifully empty without any typical holiday season camper vans! Temperatures fluctuated between 14c in the sun and -3 in the shade, meaning some parts of the road were a little frosty, which made for a little fun in some of the wider bends.
I took the Northern pass first (D592), crossing over at Pont du Soleils onto the south road - D955, D90, D71, both are about 35/40km in length, filled with some beautiful views, plenty of switchbacks, long flat straights and some real corners you have to work hard to get right.
Getting back to Lac Sainte-Croix I again went north and followed the northern road around the lake, passing back around to the West & the Hydro dam.
The 996 performed flawlessly, didn't miss a single beat and racked up well over 1800 miles in 4 days, at times I wish I knew the roads better (I've been a few times before, just not in my own car) and possibly paddles as you have to focus on heel toe so much rather then driving into a corner you're not too familiar with, anyway some photos I thought I'd share. I'd highly recommend visiting if you haven't been before, but it does get busy in the summer!
