Am about to place an order for a new 991.2 C2S. December build slot - January delivery.

Was always going to be in GT silver, but - weirdly - am finding myself wondering about Lava orange.

Have my good senses abandoned me??

Please vote: silver or orange.

thank you!

Neither, the Silver is a bit boring and the Lava ia trying to be a GT3 RS but isn't one, oh and you will take a slightly deeper bath than usual come resale.

Carmine red gets my vote on the new colours.

Both look great to me.

I was at the Frankfurt show and the launch cars all looked epic in Graphite Blue.

Don't get me wrong, they both look great, it's a great car, I just think there are other colours that are better.

Oh FFS go for the LAVA!!!! Porsche's are usually so conservative in colour.

I have had a Nordic Gold Cayman
Aqua Blue 997.2
and now a Guards Red 991

Go for it.

I've seen a couple of lava 991,s now . I actually don't think it's suits the RS to well , but strangely I think it really suits the non GT cars .. I vote Lava

Personally have a soft spot for the GT Silver so would get my vote. Do also love the Dark Blue Metallic though, lovely colour

Silver is fine if you want to blend in with the crowd, but Lava is looking lovely.

I agree with this, but the fact you ask the question suggests you're not such a strong extrovert, so perhaps Lava is too much? I also agree that resale issues will come back to haunt you.

I saw a silver 991, with black wheels in Llangollen on Saturday and it looked absolutely beautiful. It's all subjective.

GT Silver was the launch colour for the Carrera GT .. it was always a special colour, so is now the cheapest it has ever been

It hides dirt very well, and looks different under different lighting conditions.

Has much more depth and personality than the shouty Lava Orange

I think Carmine Red is a phenomenal colour. Not an obvious choice and eye catching without being 'look at me!'.

Actually GT silver does look the nuts, a friend of mine has a GT silver Cayman GTS and its one of the nicest cars I've seen and been in.

So I'm backtracking and saying the GT silver.

GT Silver is a great colour and will always look good on a 911. It is however a bit boring, and while it would probably be my choice, Carmine Red (with platinum alloys) would be my preferred alternative.

Silver = massive yawn.

Lava = dog ugly.

Get it in Carmine Red.
