Two GT2s up at Silverstone auction this weekend
Discussion
It'll be interesting to see how they do from an actual sale price instead of (maybe) dreamy advert prices.
Was at Maranello Saturday still musing over jumping from GT2 -> 458 and saw what I think must be the blandest Ferrari ever, black with black and no carbon inside at all. Salesman of course described it as "less is more". I imagine he must have said exactly the same thing to the guy he bought it off, how much more desirable the car is with no options
Gotta love salesmen...
I'll tell you what though, the freshly polished GT2 looked very much at home and comfortable parked alongside the Ferraris, small and understated yet you know it means business.

We've organised a GT2 morning at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone this Saturday morning, around 15 cars on the list so far, be good if you can make it supermono, same goes for any other owners not already signed up.
It's essentially a bunch of GT2 owners looking at their own cars in a car park but we get free tea and coffee and access to the auction preview so should be good morning.

I think the reserves were too high. The 997 GT2 sold for £115,000 inc BP.

The 997 was a LHD from Dubai, so went for strong money I reckon.
The 996s were a mixed bag, one was a well known car and the other looked in good order, I thought it would have sold but then at 90k I think it's still great money considering where they were a few years ago, owners need to be more realistic.

I've had my official replacement insurance valuation through at £125k which seems about right. Not quite sure where that values the car in terms of resale from my point of view, but I think it'd be near impossible to buy one these days for much less.
Mind you whenever its cover is removed and I hear that barking exhaust as I turn the key and drive it carefully out of the garage for a blast, "resale" seems to go out of my mind
