Where to get a 993?
Discussion
So my car history is a series of water cooled 911 and boxters with an odd M3 thrown in and currently have a Vantage V8.
I have had a 993 itch for years but keep avoiding it. I now have a heated garage with leccy rolling doors and a "classic" seems about time.
So what's the best route? Private? If so where? Dealer ditto? I'd like a p reg ( for silly reasons) . Not THAT fussed about C2, C4. Best bet, price?
I'm thinking 35-40k is this right?
Tried search but not that specific for where and what.
Apols if stupid post. Was a long time Porsche forum poster but not recently so out of touch

Ps looked at 993 buyers guide, but it's more a list of models. Looking for recent real world buyers experience.

I was once a "member" but sold mine on...same car today would be twice the price (perhaps even more)
Would love to step back in, but would struggle to justify the prices today.....
This one caught my eye, ad is now a month old....

Great its had one ...... but why would a 993 need a top end rebuild at 76K miles? Tracked within an inch of its life back in the day? If so check the suspension. Mucho money to put right if worn. Other than that the car seems not unreasonable with that mileage.Would love to step back in, but would struggle to justify the prices today.....

Still unsure ref the engine rebuild mind. Personally I'd head 30K more miles on the odometer and (with full comprehensive history obviously) save at least 12K and not have to mileage watch. Unless unlucky, a well maintained well looked after 993 should be capable of 200K miles before rebuild.

That car is now on sale with 911 V, albeit with different wheels. Looks good in black - I haven't seen many that colour.Would love to step back in, but would struggle to justify the prices today.....

Just my opinion ...it looked much better on the smaller "original" wheels http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/993/993C4V...
