996 mk1 manual knob

Recently bought a 996 mk1 manual.
The gear knob is not completely vertical ( it is tilted to the left). Has it got any defect or is it like this?

My knob hangs to the left too.

Does it have a short-shifter fitted? If so, that might explain it. The ones off ebay are often for lhd cars so they tilt to the left. Easily fixed apparently but I had it done by my local Porsche specialist so I can't give you exact details I'm afraid.

I brought a 996 turbo and the owner had installed the Ebay quick shifter so it tilted to the left, I just popped it out, spun it 180 degrees and all sorted.

The gear change is quite quick so maybe a shortsighted is installed.
No problem the left tilting as the car is LHD.
