I had the chance to participate in a 'driving for pleasure' tour in Austria last weekend. All I can say is what a fantastically capable car the 996tt is. Not only did it eat up the distance to get there and back - especially on the deresticted sections - but also turned into a bit of a racer for the winding passes. I would have always liked a GT3 but I am not sure in this case it would have completed this overall task as well as the tt. Very happy with my choice.

Sounds fun.

Can't think of many cars more suitable for travelling long distances, including fast A roads, quickly!

They truly are wonderful pieces of kit, from a completely polarised perspective: I had a london trip planned two weeks back, decided to take the 996T instead of the workhorse, even in the stop start traffic of wimbledon the old girl felt so suitable for the job, plodded along the m3 on the way home (with hungover friend sleeping in passenger seat) at 70mph with no exciting moments and it still felt worthwhile putting the mileage on.

Can't see me replacing this car for a long time to come
