Hey all,

Been looking for ages at different cars and finally picked one up this weekend. Picked up a Porsche 996.2 Carrera with x51powerkit and x74 suspension.

Very lucky find - dealer had no idea about the x51 or x74, only found out thanks to some friends at OPC Colchester who looked up the chassis for me on their systems!

Car was also originally owned by Porsche Cars GB for a year, little bit of history!

Few bits need doing - some cosmetic, such as cleaning up the headlights and new wheel center caps. Drivers side seatbelt plastic cover has also popped off. Needs new condensers but negotiated for that and intend to DIY it, and fit the mesh behind the grills at the same time! Starter motor also catches and squeels briefly, very intermittent so will likely try giving it a grease up first before replacing.

Only thing that I have noticed which may need doing is the rear left corner is sitting a little bit lower than the rear right. Any thoughts on the cause of this?

Pics attached!

160 miles in already, plenty of driving this weekend, cant wait to do more!

James.

Lovely car that OP, regarding the bumper issue, check all the bumper mounting fasteners including those inside the wheel arches (little plastic nuts).

Thanks mate!

I think it may be a suspension thing, damper wear perhaps!

We've had a few broken springs on 911 & Boxsters recently One member had 4 broken springs on a 987 which were diagnosed at an OPC open day!

Hopefully its nothing too serious, being x74 suspension parts seem to be quite hard to locate!

Lovely.

How much does the power kit add?

Sorry fellow mis-read your post. You are correct a sheared spring can cause the car to sag. Simple to trouble shoot as you have 1x good side to compare it with wink

Bought a diy meguiars kit! Did a first once over on the weekend but wanted to get out and drive so need to spend some proper time on it!

The powerkit adds 30bhp, but also a 3rd radiator, and a whole range of improvements to the engine, cant remember the exact list but it was developed in tandem with the gt3 in case it didnt pass homologation tests.

Need to get the wheels off at some point for a proper clean and tidying the wheel nuts so can use that as an opportunity to have a closer look.
